I am researching the family of Elijah and Elizabeth Austin Ward from Tippah Co. MS. They lost 3 of their 4 sons during the Civil War. Andrew John Ward was in Company B, 23 Mississippi Infantry and all the references I have found say he died on July 19, 1864 at the Battle of Pearle Thin Creek. I have not been able to find the site of this battle. Does anyone know where Pearle Thin Creek was located? It must have been a very small skirmish or else the battle is commonly called by another name.
