Lindsey P. Partridge

After searching for 27 years, I have finally found one whom I believe is my g-g-grandfather. He was a member of Company I, MS 8 Infantry, having enlisted at Enterprise, MS August 7, 1861. His family lived in Daleville, Lauderdale County, MS. It is interesting to note that "Lindsey P. Partridge is on furlough from 5 September to 10th to make arrangements for family." His record shows that on February 28, 1862, he was "sick in quarter" and on April 30, 1862 he was absent because he was "sick in hospital near Tiner's Station, TN." He died of Cleaveland (or Cleveland) Disease on November 17, 1862 at that same hospital. Does anyone know what this disease is? He was 27 leaving a wife and four children.

Does anyone know anything of this man or of his Company I, MS 8 Infantry. I ordered his records from MDAH and received only his service records, and they tell me very little. I was told that no pension records were available. I would really like to know where this Company traveled and fought.

Thank you for all you do for folks like us.
