The veterans of Port Hudson in one place call these Whitworths, in another "Whitfields" (if I recall). I've read works that presume these are "Hughes guns" but that seems only speculation. The Confederates captured a good number of Ellsworth breech-loaders late in '62, and that is what I suspect went to Port Hudson. That's my speculation.
