1st time poster. I did searches here for Simspon County and got nill. So, here I am....

I am searching for info on Simpson County Confederates. Specifically, the 3rd Battalion Infantry and Cavalry.

Cooper's Company has a listing for a "Peyton Powel" according to CWSS. I was lead to that info via David Upton's work at great work at: http://home.bak.rr.com/simpsoncounty/ .....

......who listed my g-grandfather as "Payton" Powell.

Finally, a hole in the brick wall. Anyone else have data/info on Simpson County?
