Camp Site Anderson Was Decoyed Out Of

Capt. Hendley's encampment which Federal Lt. James Baker decoyed Anderson out of on Oct. 27, 1864, and which Anderson had just arrived at after Baker had routed him up by present-day Vibbard the day before, was located very close to where the Dollar General Store is today. Using the below map link the Anderson-Baker chase started at almost the exact point of the present-day northwest Orrick city limits, went approximately 1.1 miles and ended in the ambush just short of the point of the northeast Orrick city limits.
