Elliott D. was always making the news during the war, and his immediate family was one of the largest landowners in the entire region and ended up having a governor in the family--it surprises me they have no nineteenth century historical presence. And E.D. was such a well-respected community member in San Luis Obispo--just read the blurbs about his involvement with the fire department--that it's surprising that unusual lack of historical presence followed him all the way out to California.
