Re: Major E.D. Major/Major Family Monroe Co.

Reviewing the San Luis Obispo paper he appears to have been a tax collector for the city as early as 1874 and is listed as collector and Marshall in 1876. In '76 and got into a spot of trouble for not paying the city all that he collected. Does not seem to have hurt too much because in 1878 he was appointed by the mayor to be a policeman. He then died in 1879 of as yet unknown causes.
