This one is tough as I think its clearly a misspell. However rooting in the twigs I come up with an Evert/Everad Macane/McCave/Mcormac in Richmond, Howard County with his sister in the Thomas Frisby household. This is a tangled web as in 1850 he is listed as Evert Haney in the John Frisby household in Chariton County and in 1859 his older sister married Daniel McCormick/McCormac/McCarmac. So "Sandy" sounds better than Evert and he always carried his sister's last name around on census reports so maybe he really didn't know where he was from he also would have been just 18 years old. I am guessing here....out loud which is dangerous I know.
