The Perryville Union from Jan. 13, 1865 appears to have been my point of reference too. I am seeing Leeper seems to have been at odds with the Missouri Radicals by May 1865. That also from the Perryville Union--May 19, 1865. I don't recall ever seeing an obituary on him. Wonder what that would have to say.
