Kirby, your words are most encouraging and informative about the 3rd MSM. Naturally I have to ask the question is the material you are refering a combination of the old and new organizations or just the new organization. The old organization is of particular interest to me at present. I will confess also that my focus over the years have been the 6th, 8th, 7th, 4th and 14thMSM in that order. All of whom operated in SW and central Missouri. I have come into possession of a day book of the 5th MSM but have done little work with it. The new 3rd MSM has some very interesting characters in it and as you pointed out,it is a unit that saw considerable service. I had no idea of its consdierable patronage. I know that the 4th and 6th had alot of political clout.
