I have an Ancestor (Margaret (Kratz) Walland) who married a Ferdinand Vogel on 28 Apr 1866. I am trying to find out as much as I can about Ferdinand hoping to find out more about my direct ancestor. I know that Ferdinand Vogel fought in the 9th (Bowen's Cavalry) and 10th Mo. Cavalry. According to his Company Muster Roll for July 15 to Sept. 1861, he was wounded at Springfield Aug 10, 1861. I know that the Battle of Wilson's Creek took place on August 10th but I don't see the 9th or 10th Mo. Cavalry was there. Is there is a way to tell if he was with his unit or if he was on loan to another unit? Any information will be helpful. Thanks.
