Re: Epaminondas M. Smith & Robert Collins

Robert Collins, initially Lt Collins of Smiths Company (see above) took over command of Gen. Price's escort in Oct 1862 and served until at least Feb 9 1864. He signed a parole note where he claimed to be 30 years old and a native of Henry Co MO. Having been surrendered by Kirby Smith at Memphis June 7th 1865.

This info matches the following 1860 census entry:

Robert Collins
Age in 1860: 30
Birth Year: abt 1830
Home in 1860: Tebo, Henry, Missouri
Gender: Male
Post Office: Windsor
Household Members:
Name Age
Weeden Major 69
Nancy Major 65
Charles W Major 30
A H Mchatton 27
Edward M Foster 27
Robert Collins 30

Backing up to 1850 it appears the best fit is the household of Barber and Sarelda Collins of Callaway County, though I have no proof of parentage.
