Re: Nicknames / Synonyms of Missouri Federal Units

When I initially studied this book in its hard copy version around a dozen years ago, in seeing the names of Confederate states in the index I had high hopes Confederate units were included. While I was quickly disappointed, the inclusion of nicknames of Federal units from Deep South states was interesting. It's unfortunate that the publishers of the book did not include Confederate units--at the time it probably would not have taken much in additional resources to include them.

A quick footnote here in way of a helpful hint on how to easily study the book online. Since most of the pages in the book are printed sideways, when looking at the hard copy all I had to do is simply turn the book sideways to read the pages. Of course doing that with your computer monitor is not feasible, nor is twisting your head. However, you can right click on your mouse, and then click on 'turn page clockwise' and there you have it.
