I enjoyed Danny Odom's information about the day by day activities of Silas Headrick and was wondering if you might be able to check a bit further into this for me. The reason I ask is that my great great grandfather Sgt. William Louis Andrews was a Confederate in the 8th Missouri Infantry, Co. E (Mitchell's). A family story says he died of the measles around 10/31/1862. Supposedly he asked his friend, Silas Headrick, that after the war was over could he take care of his wife and the baby that was to be born. Silas ended up marrying her after the war and raising the child. I was very intrigued that you had a day by day account of where Silas Headrick was in June of 1862 and wondered if you could find anything mentioning Silas Headrick in October 1862? If so, where was he about 10/31/1862? I think William Andrews might have been in Northern Arkansas but I sure could use some more information. Thank you so much for any tidbit of information.
