I just finished and enjoyed reading "Ride Around Missouri, Shelby's Great Raid 1863" by Sean McLachlan. In the Introduction he talks about Camp Jackson amd states (page 7) "After the St. Louis massacre, Goveronr Jackson easily passed a resolution to secede from the Union.

I'm aware of the Military Bill being passed at that time but would like to know more about the "resolution to secede". Can anyone shed some light?
