i can confirm for you that Tom Custer is buried at the Leavenworth Cemetery, the only Army soldier from the Civil war to receive the Medial of Honor twice. Many 7th US Cavalry soldiers killed in the Indian wars in Kansas and elsewhere such as Ft. Wallace, Little Big Horn, and Wounded Knee. There were many civil war veterans in the 7th Cavalry who served in Missouri regiments, one of whom I know served as a Rebel Sergeant Major.
