Bruce and John:

I believe the family shows John as head of household as the brothers served together. They were hiding ( from unknown group) under some brush when they went to visit sisters, they were trampled on by horses and Edwin's legs were damaged and had a limp from this event. I believe the family thinks they are Union troops although they were born in VA. Maybe they went home to VA for a short visit. My G grandmother said she visited her family once out east and had fabric bought and dresses and shoes made. Now that may not coincide with the rest of the history. The family in VA had slaves and etc., before John and Edwin moved west. Maybe the history is a combination of both Edwins. I have looked in some archives and will continue to search but when he enlisted he may have used Edwin, or E C. Thanks for the help. anywhere else I should look....Teresa
