On 16 October 1862 a Union force arrived at Auxvasse Creek and discovered a confederate camp nearby. The Federals attacked the camp and forced the Confederates to flee. October 18, 1862 at California House, Missouri, a group of Confederates attacked a small detachment of Union troops. The Federals were forced to withdraw from the area.
Do you think that these Federals were remnants of Porter's army who fought in Moore's Mills on 29 July 1862? Were those of California House the same who were on 16 October in Auxvasse Creek and had crossed the Missouri to join Arkansas?
