I suggest you read the autobiography of Sam Hildebrand (Quantrill's Raiders). He was a braggart but good editing makes it a very informative read. He tells much about how they got their needs - clothes, food, etc.

I am writing about "The Last Train Robbery in Missouri" committed by my gr.gr. uncle in 1897. Lots of research. Hilderbrand was an influence on him when he was a small child.
