I thought you all would have pointers towards reputable grave reclaimation professionals and/or methods for registering a site with the county and state historical socitey.

I'd already thought of the SCV. I met with some of them ealier this fall and will meet with another bunch later this winter. That's a good idea. I'll continue to pursue it.

Maybe you ain't seen what some people will do to a southern gravestite Mr. Clark. I assure you I have. Some folks don't place that high a value on it, if you know what I mean. Some folks will do more than just deface the stones, they'll knock 'em over and break 'em. They use to play a little game called "Rolling over the Grave" around here. Ever heard of it? A bunch of young tuffs would ride out in the country and find an old family cemetery and just toss the stones around and as fard as possible. If it didn't break, they'd toss it again. Whereever it ended up, that's where it is ... today.

Or do you doubt that kind of thing exists?
