Would anyone be able to look up information about one Pvt. John Schiffman, Co. D, 58th Illinois Infantry. He is listed as having died from wounds received at Yellow Bayou. Most of the other KIAs from that regiment are listed as "Killed at Yellow Bayou, May 18, 1864." Schiffman is listed as "Died of wounds received at Yellow Bayou." I'm trying to find out where he died. Figure there's a fair chance he made it onto a hospital boat and died either on the river or in a hospital up north. (The information I have here was supplied to me by a descendant. I don't know where it came from. The man wants to know where his grandpa is buried. Any help appreciated.)
