Sources you can use are as follows, which Johnny Reb used:
1. Booth, Andrew B. Records of Louisiana Confederate Soldiers and Louisiana Confederate Commands. New Orleans, LA. 3 Volumes. 1920. (This can be accessed through the Young Sanders Center site - www.youngsanders.org - see the lefthand source bar)

2. The National Park Service Civil War Soldiers and Sailors site (www.itd.nps.gov/cwss/)

3. Footnote, which you mentioned (www.footnote.com)

4. Another site I have found very helpful is www.ancestry.com, which requires a membership, as does Footnote. On this site I have been able to get to some rosters and original POW listings, but you may have to work at it to find the info you are seeking sometime.

The first three sites will not give you any ancestry information as they are generally CSR compilations

Hope this helps
