Thank you for the response and sorry for being a few days slow in replying! I became interested in Poison Springs while I was in Fort Smith and it didn't take much research to give me the opinion that things were not as they have generally been represented. I just finished going through the service records soldier by soldier and one thing is definitely true, the number killed was nowhere near as high as it has often been stated. I definitely want to offer some balance and perspective to the event and also am very curious about the events in the Choctaw and Chickasaw lands prior to the battle.
