The Indian Territory in the Civil War Message Board

Re: Wagon Boss and Mule Mechnic at Honey Springs

I still remember when I first came across the newspaper while researching Howell's Texas Battery.
The paper was very old and brittle and fell apart upon turning the pages. They gave me permission to film the article which took considerable time and then I typed it out. I understand it is now available somewhere.

I think that I leaned more about the goings on in Indian territory during the war by Pecks account than anyother.

One of the more interesting things I recall about it is the scandles he talks about taking place in Fort Gibson.
I once found a mention of a officer named Peck in the or's that was supposed to be investigating it, but never managed to led anywhere.
