It's about time that our Oklahoma history teachers had more resources. ..I shall not expound futher since curse words are forbidden. .. The 6th, and last, edition of my book has been redesigned for high school teachers. Now that our Oklahoma Legislature has axed the requirement of Oklahama History for high school graduation, I may not reach any teachers, but I'm trying.

I have always believed that a kid must first understand his home, his school, his neighborhood, his local town council, his county government, etc. ... At this rate some kids may never know who Abe Lincoln was, but it is important to learn about his surroundings by expanding his studies in concentric circles, yes, CONCENTRIC CIRCLES. ..Expanding concentric circles in every aspect of a kid's life. ..For example, kids study what they see while walking to school: rocks, dirt, weeds, trees, etc. Few know that almost every county courthouse in the USA has a collection of large ariel photos of "8-inches + 1 mile" scale, which means it is easy to recognize houses. ..I have borrowed these photos for use in the classroom. ..But today, we have GPS on the Interent, what a God's send for teachers.

This points up the CRIME of not including every sector of Oklahoma in a so-called Oklahoma history textbook book. It is difficult for a kid in Maysville OK to relate to a history written about the area northeast of Tulsa OK. ..Most kids have never been over 50 miles from home.

Ron Stone. ..Ron Stone came into my living room every day for years. ..I remember his voice, face, etc. so I must have "known" him in Houston. ..I trusted everything Ron Stone said. ..maybe because his newscast and Walter Kronkite's (a Houston kid) newcast was prevalant in the same era.
