Your class is better informed then most. My sons middle school Holt California Social Studies Book does not mention Indian soldiers at all in the CW. It did mention that Indians owned slaves in the IT. My sons high school history class didn't mention them and when I went to high school they were not mentioned either. I doubt most Americans even have a clue that they fought in the CW on both sides yet. Hopefully their story will be told one day.
