I am working with the Historic Ritchie House project in Topeka; Ritchie was colonel of the Second IHG, at least at those times he wasn't under arrest or otherwise relieved of command. I am working up a brief martial history of Ritchie and the Second IHG to post on our website. I need help, particularly with the composition of the regiment, e.g. Creek, Cherokee, Osage, etc., and in what numbers. How were they clothed, armed, and officered? Mounted or infantry? My research hasn't turned up much.
Can anyone recommend primary or secondary sources (other than the O.R.)?
