Thanks, Mr. Martin, this is really great to hear, I have been searching for this information for nearly two years. I was told only last night that there was a Camp Rand at Rome, Ga., but I believe you are correct. With the OR'S and the fact that Maj. Dunwoody was the camp commander, as listed in his muster-in roll. This, plus the fact that where my ancestor lived, Walker Co., Ga. was less than ten miles to Ringgold, Ga. and the Western& Atlantic RR. vs 70-80 miles of travel over mountainous country with bad roads.
