My father of Boonville, Arkansas, used to tell the tale that his first pair of shoes where those issued
him in Boot Camp, 1927, Great Lakes Navy Recruiting Station.

I attended the 4th grade in Boonville and can sware that the boys did not wear shoes except for the
winter months.
