I am seeking information on the Joseph H. Truitt letters (from the 31st Georgia in John Brown Gordon's Brigade) which are located in the Minnie Olga Robertson Smith papers in the Georgia State archives. I have some quotes from one of his letters describing their advance through Pennsylvania on the road to Gettysburg. But I do not have the exact date or the salutation that he used. The archives are unable to help due to budget constraints. Also, is it Truitt or Truett? I have seen both spellings. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
