Dear God, I wish I could be there. That field and the Garrity's battery view of Moccasin bend are my favorite views in America. Chickamauga was the first big battle that my grandfather was in as a member of 63rd Virginia!
I had distant Gaines relatives in the 15th Georgia. The Georgia monument is one of the best in the South. I love the Video I have on the battle where the narrator says the flag bearer on top points towards Chattanooga!!
I will watch the video and bury my face into books tomorrow!!
