Re: What happened to Henry S. Killgore?

Totally agree George, what I find peculiar with the galvanized Yankees from Georgia is Walton County, Georgia where this particular soldier Henry Samuel Killgore told Union authorities he was from. Today Georgia has 159 counties and during the War it had well over 100. I estimate that there were well over 100 galvanized Yankees just from the state of Georgia and at least four of them thus fare have told Union authorities that they had been born in Walton County, Georgia. Walton County lays about sixty miles East of Atlanta and not a county we would think of that would have a high amount of Union sentiment as compared to those counties in extreme Northern Georgia. Today; as during the War; Walton county generally has a lower population compared to the majority of other counties in Georgia.
