What happened to Henry S. Killgore?

Find A Grave Memorial# 13128065 list a grave and memorial for Henry Samuel Killgore of Phillip's Georgia Legion. He was a member of Phillip's Legion. As many of us know the 3rd Battalion Georgia Sharpshooters were formed in 1863 and many of the soldiers came from Phillip's Legion. And Henry S. Killgore is listed as being a member of Company F 3rd Battalion Sharpshooters. He was captured at Bull's Gap, Tennessee on September 5, 1864 and sent to Camp Douglas, Illinois. Federal POW records list his physical description as gray eyes; dark hair; dark complexion; and 5' 11 and one half inches in height and told Union authorities he had been born in Walton County, Georgia and had been a farmer prior to the War. However he enlisted in Company G 5th United States Infantry at Camp Douglas on April 4, 1865 and deserted his unit on July 19, 1865 at Cottonwood, Kansas. He does have Volunteer Oath of Enlistment papers with the 5th US Infantry. It may be argued that he in fact was a galvanized Yankee.
