Can you explain why the man you described would be in the Mobile area in 1862? Wouldn't he be in eastern Tennessee?

Confederate Miscellaneous records show Joseph Oswalt paid as a shoemaker, Columbus GA, summer of 1864. He received 20 cents for a pair of shoes. Evidently he had left Confederate service earlier, perhaps in the summer of 1862.
