I have a John Lowalt in Company C of the 9th battalion Georgia Artillery Company C Colunbus Rebels but I am having some trouble with this soldier. First the NPS National Park Service records and mine are the same. Which means he is listed in the roster but there must be some error. After searching on the internet there are no current or prior listing of Lowalts in America.

I also have a James Oswall possibly Oswalt that died in 1862 and I believe this is the family name as recorder in

Joeseph Oswall is mentioned on page 173 of the same book a died on September 9 1864

I believe there is some error because Lowalt is not listed here.

On Further search Oswalt seems to be the name found in the Columbus Enquirer and Find A Grave. I need to go to the State Archives and look at the records again.
