Jack, I happened on your 2009 online comments and the outstanding family piece you've done researching the 14th IL Cav. and 16th GA Cav. (http://danel.us/resources/16th+Ga=14th+IL=Cav=conflict.pfd) This piece obviously involved a great amount of time, effort, and very credible research to make it as cohesive as it is. My ancestor, G. M. Kerbow fought with the 16th in Co. D. You've indicated that this command was often divided and elements frequently detached. Further, I'm unsure if the chronology of events your research shows is specific for the 16th as a whole, or related primarily to the unit histories of Co. E, G and I where your family members served? I have some written history, recorded from my ancestor (which I'd be happy to share if interested,) that I'd like to collaborate with any published unit history that I can get my hands on that makes reference to Co. D. Would you be willing to recommend any of the resources that you have used that would allow me to do this?
