Patten [sic], Private, Company I, 4th Regiment Kentucky Cavalry,* enlisted September 10, 1862 in Montgomery County, Ky. for 3 years, captured at Salineville, Ohio July 26, 1863, arrived at Camp Chase, Ohio prison camp July 28, transferred August 22 to Camp Douglas, Illinois prison camp, paroled and transferred for exchange to Point Lookout, Md. prison camp February 24, 1865, paroled prisoner with furlough from Richmond, subscribed to Oath of Allegiance to the United States, May 20

* This company subsequently became Company I, 8th Regiment (Cluke's) Kentucky Cavalry
