They cross-interrogated the Muse gentlement as to their knowledge of James H. Norman being in their unit. they stated that they had known him since small boys first in wilkes County, GA. they stated that he enlisted in spring 18683 but don't remember how long he was in said Co. they stated that he was not detailed to any special service known to deponents. He was a good soldier and so far as they knew or believe. they never heard of anything that would indicate that JamesH. Norman was unloyal and from their knowledge of him and the character of his service they believe he was loyal to the close of the War and was honorably discharged.
"We are brothers and were in the same company and regiment with Jas. H. Norman. there was no other James H. Norman in our company or regiment. We do not know of his ever deserting the command, and we are sure that we would have known of it if he had done so. Z.W.
