Sir,

The book is ninety-three pages and is packed full of maps and a number of photos and a good overview of the battle. Actually, the maps are pretty priceless. The Blankslee/Kurtz Map is very, very good and I used it a couple of years ago to actually walk the terrain where the Cumming's Brigade and my 39th Georgia gave a superb effort.

Is there room for a historian to expand on it, yes?

Is there a lot of analysis, no?

Does it substitute for the O.R., no?

It is the only book that I know that is on Resaca that I know of. If anyone else knows of another, please let me know. I do have it sitting on my bookshelf and is the only one on Resaca and it is one of the few books dedicated to a singular battle of the Atlanta Campaign.

Speaking of Resaca, the link below is from a article just today.

Everyone please do what they can do to help. My confidence on what the Civil War Preservation Trust will do is not too high since it is not in the Old Dominion State. The area is not overly developed and can be preserved (OK, with the exception of I-75 splitting portions of the battlefield).

I hope this helps.

Respectfully,
