17th Ark. Inf. flag in "Lincoln's Genius" mag...??

Hi John and Greg -

I am working with folks at the Old State House Museum in Little Rock re the provenience/info re just how the flag was obtained. It looks like the War Dept. somehow gave it to Arkansas govt. around the turn of the century ca. ~1900 or so.

If you have any additional details re this 17th Ark. flag at the OSHM, I would LOVE to hear about it?

Dunno about the other 17th Ark. Infantry; I am trying to determine if the purported 17th Ark. flag at the Old State House Museum may have actually belonged to Rector's/Griffith's 17th Arkansas Infantry or Griffith's 11th/17th Consolidated Arkansas Infantry.

If the flag was indeed captured at Port Hudson, it would have belonged to the 11th/17th Consolidated Arkansas Infantry. We shall see.......I am hopeful BUT cautious.....

thanks,

Ken
