Great question. There are flags for all the regiments in the "Mississippi High Pressure Brigade" except the 9th Battalion Mississippi Sharpshooters. If one is found, it would be an amazing find. I'm not a flag expert by any means, but my assumption is that they did not carry a battle flag because. of their role as light infantry, fast attack, scouts, infiltrators, shock troops, or any other number of roles; all of which needed secrecy and concealment to be effective. Frank Wilkinson of the 7th Miss. and the 9th Battn. Miss. Sharpshooters described them in the summer of 1862 when Chalmers started the unit as "the roughest set of men" he had ever seen.
