Ken, here is a snip it just posted on Ark message board regarding young color bearers of 17th (Griffith's) Ark Inf at Iuka. It's from the Record of events for Co C in the CSR's..."Ganet Oliver, very young, planted the colors on the captured artillery at Iuka." There are cards for a G L Oliver as well as a Janette Oliver probably same soldier. No info though on him as color bearer.
