This is a spin off of sorts from "WWII History" this particular issue was printed in the summer of 2014. The author, John Walker, says ,"The 26th Georgia suffered 74 percent casualties in the assault, leaving their colors on the field. The survivors fell back to their original positions. Nothing came of the Confederate advance, but both sides battled on, neither advancing nor retreating." Walker doesn't have footnotes denoting source material for his words.
