Re: Writings of "Ben Ford" on guns

What is it you want put up?The flag was sold over 16 years ago by Danny Griffin of Hamburg PA. It was blessed by Dennis Lowe immediately, now of Heritage Auctions. It was thought to be Alabama. No one had access to the Alabama Archives webpage in those days, our research was Todds, Madaus and Edwards. It was in the Michael Krammer Collection for 13 years. One of the best known Confederate collectors in this country. Here it was seen and blessed by Howie Madaus as a real Civil War flag. Howie viewed it as a unique or presentation flag because he knew of no other like it, AND it was put forward by Krammer as an Alabama flag. Howie knew that there was no such animal in Alabama prior to 1890. I do not know if he did drawings? The flag was acquired by Shannon Pritchard from Krammer for a sum in excess of $70,000. The sale was conditional to the flag undergoing and passing forensic testing. Only after the flag passed all the testing to the satisfaction of Old South Military Antiques the deal was sealed. Shannon is no ones fool. But Shannon bought it as an Alabama battle flag. Subsequently the flag has been seen and blessed by ,probably the most influential dealers in this country, men who you know well and respect, and work with, you also depend on them to inform you of flags out there to add to your research portfolio. They have made offers to present it to influential collectors based on 2 things, the fact they have no doubt it is real and they now concur, based on my conclusions that it IS the other Rucker Flag. Ask them, you know about who I am talking. The flag is not for sale, it is the most significant flag I have owned and you know I have owned some of the best!!There is only one flag known that is virtually identical to this flag, BUT it is a very fancy and unservicible beast, the Aberdeen flag.. PROPOSAL: You or your friends arrange to have THEIR/YOUR expert test this flag. IF it is real, that is pre-1865 material and assembly, then they pay for the test in full. And apologies made from past posts stating I am representing a fake. No more said. IF IT TESTS BAD, I WILL pay for the test and will donate $8000 dollars to any Civil War museum or cause they/you wish the money to go to. That is what I am putting up.
