The Civil War Flags Message Board

Re: Grief Wells, Ensign, 24th Alabama Infantry

The Glenn Dedmondt book shows both an AOT 1864 Rectangle and the blue flag white cross like in the Deas Gardner brigade flags. It states that the flag was captured by the 17th Indiana and is in Chicago like was stated before. I think Gregg Stated that the 24th was in Deas brigade, but they were in A. Manigault's brigade. THis brigade included the 24th, 28th, and 34th Alabama infantry Regts, and the 10th and 19th SC regiments. I am not making an issue with you Greggg, you are one of the best Confederate researchers out there to help our people. I wonder if Manigault brigade units had these flags too. I really like them.
Take care!!
