We had a terrific time last night at the MOC in Richmond, Virginia with 35 people attending the fund raiser for their flags collection. I enjoyed meeting everyone and was happy to see some flags that I had not seen before in person during the flags tour conducted by Cathy Wright, the flags curator at the MOC. Thanksto everyone that came. We are planning a VOlume 2 for next year.
Also - the MOC in Appomattox is well worth visiting with a large number of flags on display there. A most novel idea in the exhibit design has four un-conserved flags lying flat in pull out drawers that you can open and view before closing the drawer to see the next flag. The exhibit also has a "design a flag" computer game and a computer where you can view the entire MOC collection of flags that pertain directly to Appomattox.
The MOC has done an excellent job with this new museum and I highly suggest dropping by.
