The article says this flag was made by ladies of the area where the regiment recruited. It looks an awful lot like an embroidered flag from Longley & Brother of Cincinnati, Ohio, who were know for such flags in the early wars stages.

I will double check with a couple Union flags guys that I know. Thanks for reporting this.
