Ton Custer is actually credited with capturing 2 flags. The one we are discussing (as you can see from the pictures that were posted) is most certainly not a NC flag, not to mention that since there were no VA units at Namozine Church (at least from the oob's that I have seen), that ID is mis-credited (if it is not, then it is the first example that just about anyone has ever seen of a NC flag with a VA state seal on it).

The reason for the guess at Wise's brigade is from matching the general area where they fought at Saylor's Creek to some of the areas where Custer's men were in the same battle, though it is not an exact match, which is why I said it was my best guess.
