Update, while looking through my files, OR 24, Page 179 and 180, have the 77th Illinois losing a flag (National) the Regimental flag could not be brought out, was covered with dirt in a ditch in front of the Vicksburg defenses.

The 22nd Iowa, lost one flag.

Total: 1--22nd Iowa, 2--77th Illinois and 2---99th Illinois.

Yes indeed the 2nd Texas Infantry captured two flags from the 77th Illinois. General Pemberton reported, "Five stand of colors captured".

I have the 27th Louisiana capturing, "First Colors in the siege." 99th Illinois lost colors on May 22nd, 1863.
