I pretty agree with all that you have stated. One point to remember for any discussion concerning the 7th Alabama Cavalry is that the regiment was not always together. At one point they were spread in rotating company increments from North of Pensacola (Oakfield) to Pascagoula. In fact, one month before Rucker received this flag Companies E,G and I were fighting off the Feds (July 22), in my front yard in Gonzalez, Florida(where they lost a large red battleflag). Alan, I would be interested to know if the entire regiment ever came together under Rucker.
